Richard B. Warnecke Ph.D.

Richard B. Warnecke Ph.D. was Director of the Survey Research Laboratory at the University of Illinois from 1982-1997. He is currently Director of the Health Policy Center and Center for Health Services Research at UIC. For most of hie career he has focused on issues related to cancer control. One area of major interest has been cancer control in underserved populations, particularly African American populations. As Director of the Survey Research Laboratory he has engaged in methodological research in collaboration with Seymour Sudam, Timothy Johnson (the current Director) and Diane O'Rourke. These interests continue and have focused on qualitative approaches to designing questionnaires for ethnic minority and educationally challenged populations. He is also a consultant to the Office of Special Populations at the National Center Institute.
