Subj:	19th Annual Minority Health Conference at the UNC School of Public Health


You are cordially invited to the UNC School of Public Health's
19th Annual Minority Health Conference.  This year's conference,
once again organized by the Minority Student Caucus, is titled
COMMUNITIES OF COLOR FIGHTING BACK: OUR ROLE IN THE CANCER CRISIS.
The Conference will be held Thursday and Friday, February 13 and 14 at the 
William and Ida Friday Center on Highway 54 East, Chapel Hill, NC.

In the United States, there are an estimated one million 
new cases of cancer each year and 500,000 cancer-related deaths.
Of these cases, people and communities of color are often overrepresented. 
This year's conference will explore the challenge posed by cancer, 
particularly breast and prostate cancer, in communities of color.

Gerald Durley, Ed.D., M.Div., Director of the Health Promotion Research Center
at Morehouse School of Medicine, will give the keynote address.

This year's Conference will include an evening social event, to which all
Conference participants are invited.  Join your fellow participants at at Top
of the Hill (corner of Columbia and Franklin Streets, above First Union Bank)
from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday evening.  This event is an opportunity for
students, conference presenters and faculty to meet and network.

Please attend the Conference and encourage others to participate. 
Registration is $50.  Students (any institution) attend free, as
do faculty and staff from the UNC system.
