Chandra has made several contacts regarding the Research Methods session

MHC is seeking speakers outside of UNC too

Everyone should continue looking for speaker for previously identified sessions

II. Recap of last meeting

In previous meetings, four sessions have been identified and we are currently securing speakers. The sessions include funding sources, city planning, media and advertising, research methods, and native American health issues

Shelley will contact Leslie Randall - MCH about potential speakers and pertinent issues re: NAH (Native Amer. Health)

Two Native American speakers have been referred to the speakers chair

Shelley will also talk with Dr. Jane Brown in the School of Communication about pertinent media issues & minority health

Everyone should be looking for potential speakers for our identified sessions

III. Title

We brainstormed on potential conference titles.

There was also some discussion regarding changing the name of the conference from Minority Health.

The Minority Student Caucus (MSC) would also need to change their name, MSC will discuss the name change within the executive board and among its alumni and report back to the MHC

All attendees will submit up to three potential titles by Friday, August 17 to the MHC list serv.

This item needs to be discussed further among the MSC Executive Board

V. Next Meeting

The first meeting of the school year will be held the last week in August. Date and Time to be determined.
