III. Old Business

Shelley Francis gave highlights from the 8/29/01 meeting. A "working" title was chosen for the conference -"Social Determinants of Health: Assembling Pieces of the Puzzle." This is a working title, which means we are open to minor revisions.

An explanation of subcommittee responsibilities were also given and attendees were invited to sign up for committees. Shelley Francis invited those who had not signed up for committees to do so if interested.

IV. New Business

a. Subcommittee Reports

Chandra Ford gave a summary of her first subcommittee meeting. (See Speakers Committee Minutes)

Committee would like to have the speakers for the priority sessions confirmed by 9/30/01. The committee is also soliciting suggestions from the committee for potential speakers.

Maceo Thomas suggested holding a budget committee meeting on Friday, 9/14/01 in order to strategize and identify a chair for this committee.
