  The Carolina Population Center brings together a remarkable group of faculty fellows from across The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Our fellows address pressing research questions about population dynamics, fertility, health, mortality, migration, and the environment.
• Carolina Women's Center
  The Carolina Women’s Center strives to be a leader on efforts and initiatives related to gender equity and a model of a collaborative and flexible educational and work environment that promotes professional and personal growth.
• Center for Information, Technology, and Public Life (CITAP)
  The Center for Information, Technology, and Public Life (CITAP) is a bold initiative at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill dedicated to researching, understanding, and responding to the growing impact of the internet, social media, and other forms of digital information sharing.
• Center for Thriving Communities
  After more than a decade of working alongside communities, the team at the Center for Health Equity Research has begun a new chapter as the Center for Thriving Communities. Health goes far beyond medical care, and includes access to quality housing, education, jobs, and strong social connections. The Center for Thriving Communities leads collaborative partnerships in research and capacity building to support the conditions that help all communities thrive.

• Highway Safety Research Center (HSRC)
  Established in 1965
• Institute of African American Research
  "The Institute of African American Research supported and facilitated excellence in research concerning African Americans and the African Diaspora." In 2022, The Institute of African American Research (IAAR) and the Sonja Haynes Stone Center for Black Culture and History merged to become the Sonja Haynes Stone Center for Research in Black Culture and History. On Thursday, November 30 2023 students of Comm 562: Oral History and Performance taught by Professor Renée Alexander Craft presented a staged reading Performing Sankofa, an oral history project focused on the vision and goals that animated the creation and expansion of the IAAR.
• Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ) Center
  The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ) Center works to foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for UNC-Chapel Hill community members of all sexual orientations, gender identities and gender expressions. We address this mission by allocating our resources across three broad areas:   Educational programs,   Direct services and resources, and   Advocacy
• Injury Prevention Research Center (IPRC)
  The Center's work spans five areas: prevention of gender-based violence, opioid disorder and overdose, child maltreatment, traumatic brain injury, and road traffic injury. UNC IPRC's research teams have diverse disciplinary backgrounds and work to develop innovative solutions in each of these five areas.
• Institute for Global Health and Infectious Diseases
  The beginnings of the Institute date back to the early years of the HIV/AIDS epidemic, with infectious disease faculty working in Chapel Hill and at NIH research sites around the world. As it grew, the work led to a flagship site in Malawi, UNC Project-Malawi. Today the Institute has academically diverse centers of excellence on three continents, focused on women's health, reproductive and sexual health, hematology and oncology, and mental health, with expanded global practice and education in surgery, pathology, radiology, and anesthesiology.
• Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center
  One of only 57 National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers, UNC Lineberger was rated as exceptional – the highest category – by the National Cancer Institute.
• Sheps Center for Health Services Research
  Created in 1968 as the Health Services Research Center, with Cecil G. Sheps, MD, MPH, as its first director. The Center was named for Cecil G. Sheps in 1991.
• Sonja Haynes Stone Center for Research in Black Culture and History
  The Sonja Haynes Stone Center for Research in Black Culture and History at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is one of the preeminent sites in the nation for the critical examination of African and African-American diaspora cultures, providing intellectual and cultural programming that is both timely and informative.
• UNC World View
  A noted political scientist and distinguished professor, Dr. Richard J. Richardson served on the University faculty from 1969 until his retirement in 2000. He is lauded as one of the most accomplished classroom teachers in UNC-Chapel Hill’s 227-year history and celebrated for his dedication to community service. As provost, Dr. Richardson founded World View in 1998 alongside Dr. James Peacock and World View Director Emeritus Robert Phay.
