I am so grateful to have worked with Lorraine and witnessed her many significant contributions to the educational mission of the school and the department. She was involved in teaching epid600 for many years, directed the online certificate program in field epidemiology, was director of the interprofessional education and practice for the school, and was the practicum coordinator for our applied epidemiology MPH program. And with Karin she obtained funding from UNC to create one of the first national online courses on an introduction to epidemiology. Through it all, Lorraine worked tirelessly with an unwavering commitment to the school, the department, and the students. Lorraine represents one of our unsung heroes who worked relentlessly behind the scenes to fulfil our educational mission – a glue person – who ensured that we achieve the highest quality program for students and faculty. So, Lorraine, thank you for your service, we will miss you! I wish you all the best in retirement!
